HOW TO LIVE GOD’S KINGDOM LIFESTYLE 1. Seek god, not sin (Amos 5:4) 2. Fear God, not men (Prov. 19:23) 3. Love God, not the world (John 2:15-17) 4. Believe God, not the deceiver (John 8:44) 5. Obey God, not your appetites (1 Cor. 9:24-27) 6. Serve God, not self (Philippians 3:19; Isaiah 6:8) 7. Worship God, not comfort (Hab. 3:17-18) 8. Fellowship with the brethren (Heb. 10:25).
Jesus Christ during his earthly ministry, in several instances, declared Himself as the light of the world. In John 8:12, the Bible says, âThen spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.â
In John 9:5 Jesus Christ said, âAs long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.â Also, in John 12:46, He said, âI am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.â
From the Scriptures we have just considered above, it is obvious and we are also very much assured and convinced beyond every iota of doubt that Jesus Christ is the light of the world, and as the light of the world, He was making so much impacts as found in various portion of the Scripture.
Have you pause a little while and ask yourself, âWhy was Jesus Christ talked in this manner? The answer is not far-fetched, it is simply because he has the authority to do so. Matthew 28:18 says âAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to meâ(NLT)
Imagine, nobody ever talked like Jesus! In the world history, for those of us who are history students, we came across those who exhibited autocratic, despotic and military powers et certra , some claimed to be super powers, their reigns were short-lived and their government extinguished on the surface of the earth.
However, today, we can talk like Jesus Christ because the Bible says, ââŚas He is, so are we in this worldâ (1 John 4:17). He made us the light of the worldâ so luminous and radiant! From our anchored Scripture in Matthew 5:14, Jesus Christ says âYe are the light of the worldâŚ..â.
From the various Scriptures we have read so far and as well been deeply encouraged, it behooves on us to light up the world, in other words, âlight up your worldâ. The phrase, âyour worldâ generally refers to the sum of an individualâs experiences, environment, relationship, and perspectives, encompassing the people, places, and things that are important to the person in reference.
Satan may prowl or roam around like a roaring lion, but he canât run things because heâs darkness and weâre light. Light dispels darkness. Hallelujah!
With this, we are better appreciated on Jesus âpowerful instruction in Matthew 5:16 when He said, âLet your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.â Here, Jesus emphasized letting your light shine so brightly until others are inspired to glorify God because of you. Every day, glow with such radiance, brilliance and intensity that your life becomes a testament to Godâs glory. In other words, make an impact with your life.
Usually, you would hear people with different excuses while others are complaining that they were not born with âthe silver spoonâ and for that reason, they are not able to make in life compare to their counterpart who are excelling in their diverse field of endeavours. I want to assure you that it makes no difference now that you are in Christ Jesus. What you have to do is to illuminate the world and showcase the Godâs good works through His son, Jesus Christ.
What are these âgood worksâ? They are the works or acts of God; the supernatural and the miraculous. Youâre His voice and His hands to reach and bless others. This is the extraordinary life God has called us to liveâa life of purpose, impact and influence for His glory, Amen!.
